On Highly D-efficient Designs with Non- Negatively Correlated Observations
• In the most difficult case where the number of observations n ≡ 3 (mod 4), high Defficiency of certain chemical balance weighing designs under completely symmetric covariance matrix of errors is shown. It is also proved that D-optimal design may depend on the values of the correlation coefficient.
متن کاملD-optimal and highly D-efficient designs with non-negatively correlated observations
In this paper we consider D-optimal and highly D-efficient chemical balance weighing designs. The errors are assumed to be equally non-negatively correlated and to have equal variances. Some necessary and sufficient conditions under which a design is D*-optimal design (regular D-optimal design) are proved. It is also shown that in many cases D*-optimal design does not exist. In many of those ca...
متن کاملOptimal Cylindrical-block Designs for Correlated Observations
This paper addresses the problem of characterizations and constructions of optimal and efficient two-dimensional designs for generalized least squares estimation of treatment contrasts when the errors are correlated. Universally optimal designs are obtained when the plots of each block are on a cylinder and the errors follow the three parameter autonormal process on the cylinder. Efficiencies o...
متن کاملOptimal designs for the Michaelis Menten model with correlated observations
In this paper we investigate the problem of designing experiments for weighted least squares analysis in the Michaelis Menten model. We study the structure of exact D-optimal designs in a model with an autoregressive error structure. Explicit results for locally D-optimal are derived for the case where 2 observations can be taken per subject. Additionally standardized maximin D-optimal designs ...
متن کاملOptimal Designs for Compartmental Models with Correlated Observations
The flow of internally deposited radioisotope particles inside the body of people exposed to inhalation, ingestion, injection or other ways is usually evaluated using compartmental models (see Sánchez & López-Fidalgo, (2003, and López-Fidalgo & Sánchez, 2005). The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP, 1994) describes the model of the human respiratory tract, represented by ...
